Dear Families,

Welcome back to Annunciation School!  We have had a tremendous start to the 2019-2020 school year!  This has truly been my favorite back to school week to-date in my career as an educator!  Thank you for your partnership and the gift of your children!

I hope that you and your family enjoyed the summer months.  Throughout the school year, the school will be sending weekly correspondences on Wednesday’s.  Please be sure to provide updated contact information.  If you are not receiving our weekly correspondences, please contact Mrs. Sinnott.

Our summer was full of planning!  Our teachers worked to make the days ahead fruitful learning adventures for your child(ren).  We are excited to implement new programming and know the students will benefit academically from the enhancements we have made.

I would like to warmly welcome our new staff members: Ms. Yao (6,7,8th At-Level Math), Ms. DaSilva (3B), Mrs. Barry (KA Assistant).  They come to us with a wealth of knowledge across content areas.  We are so happy to have them join our Annunciation family and we are thankful for their commitment to Catholic education.

The Family Handbook will be coming home today with the youngest and/or only child.  Please read the handbook carefully and submit the signed forms that are attached.  Please note there were amendments and additions to the handbook made in regards to the following areas:

  • Annunciation School Commitment of School, Students and Parents pg.4
  • Academic/ School Policies pg. 7
    • National Junior Honor Society pg. 11
    • Assessments pg. 13
  • Attendance p.15
  • Birthday Parties p.15
  • Discipline Code 20
  • Harassment and Bullying Policies p.29
  • Immunization Documents (Appendix)

Homeroom teachers will delve further into the handbook guidelines with their students.  It is always our expectation that the children are following the Annunciation School rules.

On behalf of the students and faculty here, we want to wish Sr. Theresa the best as she celebrates her 60th Jubilee year as a presentation sister. Her service to God and Annunciation School / Our Lady of Fatima parish has greatly impacted our community.

I would like to thank you for all of your support and for choosing Annunciation.  This year we look forward to upholding our Annunciation School mission: educating the students with the highest regard to academic excellence and inspiring them to move forward in pursuit of their fullest spiritual, academic, social and emotional potential.
