General Student Service Projects:
- Each Spring, Annunciation’s Eighth Graders volunteer at several local
organizations. They may visit places such as The Guild Home for the Aged
Blind, Cabrini Nursing Home, The Franciscan Motherhouse, Blythedale Children’s
Hospital, or Wartburg Adult Care Community Center. The Eighth Graders
engage in several activities with the residents of the centers they visit.
They may work on an art project, play “Bingo,” read stories, or simply
enjoy pleasant conversation with those whom they are visiting.
- In preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, Annunciation’s Seventh
Graders commit themselves to a minimum of ten hours of volunteer work.
The students may help monitor the kindergarten students during lunch,
and some students choose to volunteer at school and Parish functions.
On October 24th, a group of 7th Graders volunteered for “Boo Fest” at
the Lyndhurst Estate, and this type of community service is also encouraged.
