Dear Families,

This Week in Review:

This week was very exciting for you and your children as they began a new school year.  I was certain of this when I saw all the smiling faces on Wednesday in the school yard. It was equally as exciting for me as I was finally able to meet the entire school community where I was given the honor of becoming your new principal!  I welcomed your children alongside Ms. Geraghty, Fr. Grippo, Fr. Kareem and of course our teachers; some of whom are new to Annunciation:

Mrs. Melissa Hollywood – Grade 6 – ELA
Mr. Richard Molina – Grade 6,7,8 – At Level Math
Mr. Tyler Schultz – Grade 6,7,8 – Social Studies
Mr. Justin Sgobbo – Grade 6,7,8 – Science
            Mr. Brian Dorrian – Grade 7,8 – Religion/Latin
Ms. Diana Carvalho – Grade 1A – Assistant
Ms. Lina Carroll – Grade Pre-K4/B Assistant
Mrs. Beth Varker – School Nurse

On Wednesday morning, I visited each classroom and heard many kind comments from the students about how wonderful the school looked and how pleased they were with the updates!  They were especially excited about the addition of the playground in the schoolyard and our middle school students eagerly await the opportunities to use their Chromebooks.

I thank our building and maintenance staff who worked tirelessly so that your children were able to enter a meticulously clean school with so many obvious improvements.  I also thank our dedicated teachers who began arriving in August to prepare their classrooms.

At the end of the first day, I truly understood what so many people meant when they told me about just how special the Annunciation School was!  I witnessed the true sense of community and I felt very blessed to be a part of it.  I vow to support teachers this year in inspiring students and encouraging them to move forward in pursuit of their fullest spiritual, academic, social and emotional potential as written in our mission statement.  Together with you, I am certain we will create memories for your children that will last a lifetime.

Best Regards,
Rose M. Ragone
