Dear Annunciation Families:

Walk-A-Thon Update:
          We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in adjusting our walk-a-thon. We are planning to reschedule our walk-a-thon for Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:15PM. We will do our regular loop and then we will return to the school building.

          Important to note–already scheduled for June 7th  is the 8th grade clap out.

          We will STILL be able to support the 8th grade students on their last day and complete the clap out prior to dismissal time.

          This is the only school day that works where we will have ALL grades still in school prior to graduation ceremonies. 

          Since prek3 is already dismissed at this time, we ask that PreK3 families consider having the students return to school for the walk-a-thon. 

          We are thinking of ALL THINGS STEM with our walk-a-thon money this year, please consider donating to expanding our STEM programming at AES.  

          Donations can be made to Annunciation School.

Planning Ahead–24-25 Calendar Items:
          We are still awaiting the final calendar for 2024-2025 but I am sharing some important dates below. Once we have the calendar–we will publish all additional information:

• September 5, 2024→ First Day of School Grades 1-8, NOON Dismissal
• September 6, 2024→ First Full Day Grades 1-8
• September 9, 2024→ Kindergarten Orientation, 10AM 
• September 10, 2024→ PreK3, PreK4 Orientation, 10AM, Kindergarten NOON dismissal
• September 11, 2024→ Kindergarten Full Day, PreK4 NOON dismissal
• September 12, 2024→ PreK4, Full Day 

AES Auction Items:
          We are in the process of fulfilling AES auction items! 

Accelerated Math Information for Qualification: 
          Students in Grade 5 will additionally participate in the ITBS exam.  Grade 6 students in at-level will be required to take a placement test for qualification if they meet the overall 90 average. 

          For students who are interested in participating in the accelerated track for next year in current grades 5 must meet the following criteria to be accepted:

• 90 average overall in Math 
• 85 or above NPR on ITBS
• Growth in MAP scores
• 90 or above placement test 
• The ITBS will be administered on June 4, 2024 for Grade 5.
• The placement exam is optional and will be administered on June 17, 2024 at 3P for students interested in qualifying for accelerated math entering grades 6 or 7.

Bible Camp:
          Please see the attached form for Bible Camp. Mrs. Scullion is running Bible Camp again this year! See the attached form and remit payment of $175 if your child(ren) is interested in signing up,

Finals Schedule:
          We will also participate in the ADNY Religion final exam for grades 3-8 on May 30, 2024.

          Attached is the finals schedule for our students in grades 6-8.

          Please be sure that students are preparing each night for finals. 

Happy Kid Lunch–Schedule Change & Important Reminders
          Our last day of Happy Kid Lunch is June 10, 2024.

          The menu is attached.

          Please note that over the next few weeks the lunch program will not be able to sell lunch items on the lunch line. They will only be able to accommodate snacks and drinks online.

          If your child is intended to get lunch, it must be preordered.

          Please be sure that balances are paid for Happy Kid Lunch prior to the end of the year.

HSA News:
    Thank you to all the families who attended Donuts with Dads on May 19th.  Thank you to HSA members Amy Lang and Amanda Speer for coordinating a lovely morning. 

          The students loved the petting zoo today, featuring animals from Two-by-Two Animal Haven.  Be on the lookout for pictures on our social media!  As we approach the end of the year, HSA will be coordinating our End of the Year Collection for our amazing teachers, staff and administration.  Please consider donating to this collection, to provide our wonderful AES team a well-deserved end of the year gift.  Please see the flyer attached.

          Come on out to support our students!  Please send in your donations to the school office.  We are looking for 100% family participation this year to support our STEM initiatives for next year.
