September 4, 2024 Dear Annunciation Families: Twas the night before school begins. . . and we are SO EXCITED to welcome you all back. We hope you soak in the last few hours before our school year starts. You chose Annunciation School for your children because you felt it was the best educational experience, the place where your children will grow, learn & flourish, and an institution deeply rooted in our faith and sense of community. This is why YOU are here! Our doors warmly await the arrival of our esteemed students tomorrow. Today, we had the blessing of gathering with our faculty and delving right into our partnership, collaboration and collegiality. We have so much planned for this school year ahead that we look forward to sharing with our students and families. A Few Pertinent Reminders: OPENING DAY & Arrival/Dismissal Reminders and Updates for GRADES 1-8 ** On Thursday, September 5, 2024→ Students will line up near the basketball hoops. Teachers will be present with signage to direct students. Beginning on Friday, September 6, 2024→ Students will walk directly to their classrooms. Grades 1-8 Arrival: 8:05AM doors will open and students are permitted to go directly to their homeroom. Doors will close at 8:15AM this year. Any child arriving after 8:15AM will need to go to the main office and collect a late pass. Excessive lateness will impact students’ ability to earn honors in grades 5-8. Please be sure to be prompt in the morning. 2024-2025 Arrival/Dismissal Form: Please complete the attached Google Form regarding your child’s intended arrival and dismissal plan. As always, if there is a change to your child’s transportation or someone else will be picking up your child, the school office and homeroom teachers must be notified. Your child(ren) will not be released to anyone unless we have written permission from the parent/guardian. 24-25 Arrival/Dismissal Form ***This Google Form must be completed by ALL FAMILIES no later than September 4, 2024. *** For Students with IESPs/ 504 Plans: For students that have been enrolled at AES with existing IESPs, please submit the 24-25 updated IESP to the main office. We do not receive these documents from YPS and therefore we need our parents to submit them to us so that we can update records. If anyone is NEW to school and has a current IESP in place and/or 504 plan, please submit it to us so that it can be reviewed and updated with our Special Education Department as needed. If your child will be bussing out for services at one of our local schools, please be sure to include the homeroom teacher and administration on these scheduling correspondences. Last year, we began suggesting that parents supply students that will be bussed for services with an Apple AirTag. The AirTag will be held in the main office and distributed to the child before he/she goes on the bus. It will be returned to Mrs. Brown upon return back to school. If you are interested in having your child evaluated, please contact Ms. Montanez and schedule an initial meeting. Email: monica.montanez@catapultlearning.com

HSA NEWS:
Your AES HSA is excited to kick-off the 2024-2025 school year! We have many wonderful events planned for our families this year and special in-school events for our students. Please reach out to HSA@annunciationcrestwood.com if you would like to volunteer this year or have any questions about what we do. Our HSA membership consists of our Class Parents, Event Chairs, and Daily Operations team. HSA is one important piece in the AES fundraising model. Our AES Crestwood Foundation is responsible for our school’s long-term fundraising and our HSA is responsible for our short-term (current school year) fundraising and “fun”raising. Both are integral to our school’s success. For a listing of our HSA members check out the HSA tab on the AES website.
We are welcoming our new student families today, at our New Student Ice Cream Social. Thank you to Co-Chairs, Rosa DiLullo and Erin Downey for organizing this event for our newest Knights!!
Our first major event of the ’24-’25 school year will be our AES Color Run! This student favorite event has been held in April the last couple of years, but we thought it would be a great way to celebrate the start of a new school year, and the perfect welcome back event for our families. Please see the attached flyer and we hope you can all attend. Also, please see attached our standard beginning of the year flyers: our passive fundraising opportunities and our Birthday Bash program form. We hope that you participate in all of these voluntary programs. Please note that Stew Leonard’s discontinued its rewards program, so we will not be offering that this year.
